Caring for what cares for us
The practices Ankua runs on: where the energy and water come from, how it's built and how the forest is looked after.
Practices
Ankua is an eco-hotel on a working farm in Usiacurí. These are the practices it runs on today.
The energy the hotel uses comes from the sun. In the Ankua Experience you can learn about the farm's solar power system and sustainability techniques.
The water used in the hotel comes from wells on the farm itself.
Waste is treated with microbacteria before being released into the environment.
Certified plantation wood, iron nails and a bitter-palm roof: cabins built with low-impact materials.
Organic crops and plantings on the farm, and guests who learn to plant their own tree.
Internal trails of more than 3 km in a tropical dry-forest ecosystem, and tours around Usiacurí with ASOGATUR, outside the hotel.
